Longan, commonly known as longan and dragon's eye, is a tropical tree species that produces edible fruits.  It is a well-known tropical member of the soapberry family Sapindaceae, which also includes litchi and rambutan. Longan fruit is similar to lychee, but less aromatic in taste.
